Volunteers are needed all year 'round, as well as leading up to and during the annual festival in June. Volunteering at SSFF is also a great opportunity for film students to get real experience working with other filmmakers. High school students may fulfill the school district community service requirements with SSFF.Volunteer jobs and Committee Member positions include: THIRD THURSDAY year-round film screenings - Event coordinators

EVENTS/PARTIES Before the Festival
- Spring Fundraiser: help is needed for ticket sales, set up, take-down and pre-event planning!
During the Festival
- PARTY coordinators and event planners needed!
- Night Life! Coordinate with local clubs and night spots about ideas for life after the last screening.
FESTIVAL VOLUNTEERS Shifts during the FESTIVAL are 4 hours
- FILMMAKER HOSPITALITY - group of volunteers to help prepare the welcoming gifts for the filmmakers
- FILMMAKER REGISTRATION - keeps track of filmmakers' lodging arrangements, transportation schedules, and arrival times, and registration.
- Grip (run errands, set up, take-down, schlep)
- House Manager (manage audience services at a venue)
- Signage - teams to post signs around Bethlehem directing traffic to the festival and signs around Lehigh Campus for easy navigation between venues.
- Ticket & Merchandise Sales
- Usher (greet and seat audiences)
Each volunteer gets a T-shirt to wear during their shift and a pass to see a movie before or after their shift. A training session will be held prior to the festival.
FESTIVAL A/V INTERNS
- A/V INTERNS: Want to be an intern and gain experience about setting up advanced Audio and Video setups for the fest? Two of our venues will be THX certified, one with 7.1 surround sound.
MERCHANDISE SALES Assistants and coordinators who have or want to gain sales/inventory/retail experience:
- Sales & inventory tracking of merchandise (T-shirts & swag) during the Festival.
- Advance Sales: someone responsible for advance sales, festival sales, displays etc.
PROMOTION/MARKETING
- Distribute materials, brochures, posters etc. far and wide.
- Brainstorm ideas on how to heighten exposure for films being screened at the SSFF.
