About the Film: Paleontologists seeking clues to an extinction event, befriend Sipho, a South African youth with a gift for finding fossils. But the boy's village is experiencing its own extinction, and a girl he loves is dying. To instill hope, Sipho tells her how the human species arose triumphantly from past extinctions.

About the Director: Kevin McCarey is an Emmy Award winning filmmaker who has worked primarily for National Geographic Television as a documentary producer, writer and director. His first narrative feature Coyotes was an Audience Favorite at the 1999 Palm Springs Int’l Film Festival and won Best Feature Film at the 1999 Savannah Int’l Film Festival. His narrative short "San Juan Story" (1991) was an Academy Award semi-finalist. Kevin McCarey is an Emmy Award winning filmmaker who has worked primarily for National Geographic Television. His narrative short "San Juan Story" was an Academy Award semi-finalist. McCarey currently teaches writing and directing at the Savannah College of Art and Design.
